Poland: Retail sales growth jumps to over seven-year high
Nominal retail sales skyrocketed 13.6% year-on-year in April, pulverizing March’s 3.1% rise. April’s expansion was broad-based, yet it was driven largely by surging sales of furniture, radio, TV and household appliances, as well as of food, beverages and tobacco—all of which soared more than 20%.
Consequently, annual average growth in nominal retail sales accelerated from 7.1% in March to 7.9%, the highest reading in four months.
