Qatar: Inflation rises in June
Inflation edged up to 1.0% in June, following May’s 0.9%. Looking at the details of the release, the acceleration was primarily driven by stronger growth in prices for recreation and culture. Moreover, prices for clothing and footwear rebounded and prices for housing and utilities dropped at a milder pace.
Meanwhile, the trend pointed down, with annual average inflation falling to 1.8% in June (May: 2.0%).
Lastly, consumer prices fell 0.07% in June over the previous month, contrasting May’s 0.44% increase. June’s result marked the weakest reading since March.
