Romania: Economic sentiment deteriorates in September
Economic sentiment came in at 100.2 in September, down from August’s 101.1. Consequently, the index remained above the long-term average of 100, pointing to a positive near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print reflected worsening sentiment in both the services and construction sectors. Meanwhile, confidence in the industrial sector increased in September, whereas sentiment in the retail sector was up in the month.
Considering indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations deteriorated in September, while the economic uncertainty index rose.
