Romania: Economic sentiment hits highest reading since March in November
Economic sentiment came in at 101.9 in November, up from October’s 101.4. November’s result marked the best reading since March. As a result, the index remained above the long-term average of 100, pointing to a positive near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print reflected stronger sentiment in the industrial and services sectors. In the meantime, confidence in the construction sector was weaker in November, as was sentiment in the retail sector. Lastly, consumer confidence was unchanged in November.
Considering indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations weakened, while the economic uncertainty index improved in November.
