Romania: Growth moderates in Q2 but remains strong nonetheless
Romania’s economy grew 4.4% year-on-year in the second quarter, according to a preliminary estimate released by the Statistical Institute on 14 August. Although this was down from the first quarter’s 5.0% outturn, the print overshot analysts’ expectations and comfortably exceed the Eurozone average of 1.1%.
In seasonally-adjusted terms, the economy grew 1.0% quarter-on-quarter (Q1: +1.2% quarter-on-quarter s.a.).
Comprehensive second-quarter national accounts will be released on 6 September.
