Romania: Decline in industrial output softens in November
Industrial output dropped 4.4% compared to the same month of the previous year in November, which was a less pronounced contraction than October’s 5.1% decrease. The reading largely reflected stronger electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply production. In contrast, manufacturing production deteriorated.
On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial output fell at a softer pace of 0.6% in November (October: -1.4% mom). Meanwhile, the trend pointed down, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at a two-year low of minus 5.1%, down from October’s minus 5.0% reading.
