Romania: Industrial output growth slows in October
Industrial output expanded 0.7% in year-on-year terms in October, which was a deterioration from September’s 1.6% increase. October’s deterioration was primarily due to sharper contractions in mining and quarrying and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply production. However, manufacturing production accelerated.
On a monthly basis, factory output decreased 0.4% in seasonally adjusted terms in October, easing from Septembers 0.5% fall. Meanwhile, the trend improved, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 1.3% in October, up from September’s minus 1.8% reading.
