Romania: Industrial production loses steam in November
Industrial output grew 2.6% in annual terms in November, below October’s 3.5% expansion. According to the Statistical Institute, the November’s expansion came on the back of healthy growth in the manufacturing sector, while the mining and quarrying sector continued to contract. Meanwhile, the supply of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning sector remained broadly unchanged.
On a seasonally- and working-day adjusted month-on-month basis, industrial production output rose 0.8% in November, contrasting October’s 0.3% contraction. Annual average growth in industrial production, meanwhile, dropped from 4.9% in October to 4.4% in November, the lowest reading in 18 months.
