Romania: Inflation moderates in December
Inflation came in at 6.6% in December, down from November’s 6.7%. December’s result marked the lowest inflation rate since Septemebr 2021. Softer price pressures for food products drove the deceleration, while prices for non-food products and services increased more sharply.
The trend pointed down, with annual average inflation coming in at 10.8% in December (November: 11.3%).
Finally, consumer prices rose a seasonally adjusted 0.26% in December over the previous month, contrasting the 0.01% fall seen in November.
