Romania: Inflation falls to over two-year low in April
Consumer prices increased a seasonally-adjusted 0.26% from the previous month in April, below the 0.50% rise recorded in March. The reading was largely driven by lower prices for non-food items.
Inflation came in at 2.7% in April, slightly below March’s 3.1%. April’s reading was the lowest inflation rate since October 2017. Accordingly, the trend pointed down slightly, with annual average inflation coming in at 3.6% in April (March: 3.7%). Lastly, core inflation fell to 0.5% from March’s 0.8%.
