Romania: Inflation recedes to a nine-month low in October
Consumer prices rose 0.4% month-on-month in October, up from September’s 0.1% result. Notably, prices for food rebounded from a month earlier, while prices for non-food goods ticked up.
Inflation logged 3.4% in October (September: 3.5%), the lowest print since January 2019, landing below the upper bound of the Central Bank’s 1.5%–3.5% target range. Meanwhile, annual average inflation ticked down to 3.7%, from 3.8% in September.
