Romania: Inflation recedes in August
Consumer prices rose 0.1% month-on-month in August, contrasting July’s 0.2% decline. August’s upturn reflected higher prices for non-food goods and services.
Inflation eased to 3.9% in August (July: 4.1%), thus moving closer to the Central Bank’s 1.5%–3.5% target range. Meanwhile, annual average inflation came in at 3.9%, inching down from July’s 4.0%.
