Romania: Inflation recedes in June
Consumer prices declined 0.2% month-on-month in June, the lowest reading in 11 months, following May’s 0.5% increase. June’s drop reflected lower prices for food and non-food goods.
Inflation decelerated to 3.8% in June (May: 4.1%), closing in to the upper bound of the Central Bank’s 1.5%–3.5% target range. Meanwhile, annual average inflation inched down to 4.1% from 4.2% in May.
