Romania: Inflation rises in January
Consumer prices rose 1.33% over the previous month in January, picking up from the 0.34% increase logged in December. January’s result was the sharpest increase in prices since January 2013. January’s pickup was broad-based, with greater price pressures recorded for food, non-food goods, and services.
Inflation came in at 3.0% in January, up from December’s 2.1%. Meanwhile, annual average inflation came in at December’s 2.6% in January. Lastly, core inflation rose to 3.6% from December’s 2.9%.
