Russia: Industrial output growth gains momentum in September
Industrial output expanded 6.8% compared to the same month a year earlier in September, which followed August’s 4.6% increase. The reading reflected a broad-based upturn, with activity in the manufacturing, mining and quarrying, and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply sub-sectors all improving in September.
On a monthly basis, industrial production grew 1.7% in seasonally-adjusted terms in September, contrasting August’s 0.8% fall and marked the best result since December 2020. Meanwhile, annual average industrial production growth rose to 3.5% in September (August: +2.6%), signaling an improving trend in the industrial sector.
