Russia: Inflation eases in May
Consumer prices increased 0.30% over the last month in May, slowing from April’s 0.80% uptick. May’s reading reflected broad-based, albeit moderate, increases in prices for services as well as both food and non-food goods.
Inflation ticked down to 3.0% in May, slightly below April’s 3.1%. Meanwhile, the trend pointed down, with annual average inflation coming in at 3.4% in May (April: 3.6%). Lastly, core inflation was stable at the previous month’s 2.9% in May.
