Saudi Arabia: Consumer prices pick up modestly in December
Consumer prices ticked up 0.1% over the previous month in December, contrasting November’s 0.1% decrease. The print mainly reflected higher prices for food and beverages, and transportation.
In December, consumer prices increased 0.2% in annual terms, after November’s 0.2% drop. Meanwhile, the annual average variation in consumer prices declined 1.2% in 2019, compared to the 2.5% increase in 2018 (November 2019: -1.1% year-on-year).
