Serbia: Economic sentiment deteriorates in April
Economic sentiment came in at 104.2 in April, down from March’s 106.2. That said, the index remained above the long-term average of 100, pointing to a positive near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print reflected deteriorating sentiment in the industrial and construction sectors. On the flip side, confidence in the services sector was healthier in the surveyed month, while sentiment in the retail sector rose. Lastly, consumer confidence waned in April.
Relating to indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations improved, while the economic uncertainty index fell in April.
