Serbia Inflation January 2023

Serbia: Inflation comes in at highest level since at least January 2008

Inflation came in at 15.8% in January, which was up from December’s 15.1%. January’s figure represented the highest inflation rate since our current records began in January 2008.

Consequently, the trend pointed up; annual average inflation rose to 12.6% in January (December: 12.0%). Meanwhile, harmonized inflation rose to 15.2% in January, from December’s 14.6%.

Lastly, consumer prices increased 1.40% in January over the previous month, picking up from December’s 0.44% increase. January’s result marked the highest reading since October 2022.
