Serbia: Inflation holds steady in April
Inflation was stable at March’s 5.0% in April. Price pressures for textile products and recreation and culture softened, while prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages and transportation rose at quicker rates.
The trend pointed down, with annual average inflation coming in at 8.9% in April (March: 9.8%). Meanwhile, core inflation edged down to 4.8% in April, from the previous month’s 5.0%.
Finally, consumer prices increased 0.66% in April over the previous month, accelerating from the 0.26% increase seen in March. April’s result was the highest reading since June 2023.
