Serbia: Inflation slows in October
Consumer price rose by 0.1% over the prior month in October, contrasting the 0.5% drop in September. The increase was driven by a sharp rise in clothing and footwear prices and higher transportation costs.
Inflation ticked down to 1.0% in October from 1.1% in September, moving further below the lower limit of the Central Bank’s target range of 3.0% plus or minus 1.5 percentage points. Likewise, core inflation—which excludes the more volatile components energy, food, alcohol and tobacco—edged down to 1.1% from 1.3%, while annual average inflation softened to 1.9% in October from 2.0%.
