Singapore: Inflation rises in April
Inflation inched up to 5.7% in April from March’s 5.5%. Looking at the details of the release, prices for transport increased at a steeper rate. That said, food and housing price pressures moderated.
Annual average inflation remained at March’s 6.5% in April. Meanwhile, core inflation was stable, coming in at March’s 5.0% in April.
Finally, consumer prices increased 0.08% in April over the previous month, coming in below the 0.50% rise recorded in March. April’s result marked the weakest reading since October 2022.
