Singapore: Inflation falls to lowest level since June 2021 in June
Inflation came in at 2.4% in June, which was down from May’s 3.1%. June’s reading marked the weakest inflation rate since June 2021. The decline was broad-based, with lower price pressures recorded for food, housing and utilities, and transport.
In addition, the trend pointed down slightly, with annual average inflation coming in at 3.5% in June (May: 3.6%). Meanwhile, core inflation fell to 2.9% in June from May’s 3.1%.
Finally, consumer prices fell 0.22% over the previous month in June, contrasting May’s 0.70% increase. June’s result marked the weakest reading since January.
