Slovakia: Economic sentiment increases in November
Economic sentiment rose to 93.4 in November from October’s 91.4. Despite the uptick, the index remained entrenched below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a downbeat near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print reflected healthier sentiment in the industrial sector and stronger optimism in the retail sector. That said, sentiment in the construction sector deteriorated and confidence in the services sector waned in the surveyed month. Finally, consumer confidence was up in November.
Considering indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations were healthier, and the economic uncertainty index improved in November.
