Slovakia: Economic sentiment hits a three-year high in June
Economic sentiment jumped to 103.6 in June from May’s 95.6. June’s result marked the strongest sentiment since June 2021. As a result, the index moved above the long-term average of 100, pointing to a positive near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print reflected returning confidence in the industrial and services sectors, as well as stronger confidence in the retail sector. Moreover, June saw healthier sentiment among consumers. However, sentiment in the construction sector deteriorated.
Relating to indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations weakened, while the economic uncertainty index increased in June.
