Slovakia: Industrial activity falls at sharpest pace in over one year in March
Industrial output dived 6.9% compared to the same month a year earlier in March, which contrasted February’s 0.1% increase. March’s result marked the worst reading since December 2022. Looking at the details of the release, manufacturing production fell at a sharper pace in March. Meanwhile, energy supply production accelerated.
Accordingly, the trend pointed down, with the annual average growth of industrial production coming in at 1.5% in March, down from February’s 2.6% reading. On a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis, the industrial sector fell 1.2%, contrasting the 0.2% increase in the prior month.
