Slovakia: Industrial output rises at fastest pace in six months in April
Industrial output rebounded notably in April, expanding 6.4% in year-on-year terms in April, which contrasted March’s 6.9% decrease. Looking at the details of the release, the improvement chiefly reflected the manufacturing sector, which returned to growth and posted the strongest increase in six months. Energy supply output accelerated and mining production declined at a softer annual clip, adding impetus.
Accordingly, annual average industrial production growth rose to 2.0% in April (March: +1.5%), signaling an improving trend in the industrial sector.
Lastly, the industry sector bounced back in seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms in April, rising 3.3% (March: -1.3% s.a. mom).
