Slovakia: Decline in industrial output softens in September
Industrial output fell 0.2% compared to the same month of 2019 in September, a less pronounced drop than August’s 0.9% decrease and marking the best result since January. The softer drop was partly driven by a weaker contraction in manufacturing output as well as a pickup in mining and quarrying production.
On a monthly basis, factory output increased 3.4% in seasonally-adjusted terms in September, which was below August’s 4.4% expansion. Meanwhile, the trend improved, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 10.3%, up from August’s minus 10.5% reading.
