Slovakia: Industrial production declines in February
Industrial production fell 1.5% over the previous year in February, contrasting January’s 0.5% rise. February’s downturn was largely driven by a decline in the manufacturing sector, which more than offset expansions in the utilities supply sector as well as in the mining and quarrying sector.
After adjusting for seasonal effects, industrial production decreased 0.7% month-on-month in February (January: +4.6% month-on-month, seasonally adjusted).
Meanwhile, annual average industrial production declined 0.6% in February, down from January’s flat reading.
