Slovakia: Harmonized inflation declines to lowest level since January 2022 in October
Harmonized inflation dropped to 7.8% in October, following September’s 9.0%. October’s result represented the lowest inflation rate since January 2022. The moderation was broad-based, with lower price pressures recorded for food and non-alcoholic beverages, transportation, and housing and utilities. Moreover, prices for recreation grew at a more subdued pace.
Accordingly, the trend pointed down, with annual average harmonized inflation coming in at 12.5% in October (September: 13.0%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation fell to 7.1% in October, from the previous month’s 8.2%.
Finally, harmonized consumer prices rose 0.19% in October over the previous month, below the 0.32% increase recorded in September.
