Slovakia: Harmonized inflation drops to lowest level since September 2022 in April
Harmonized inflation eased to 14.0% in April, following March’s 14.8%. April’s result represented the weakest inflation rate since September 2022. Looking at the details of the release, prices for food and housing increased at a more moderate pace in April. Meanwhile, prices for transportation dropped after growing in the previous month.
Annual average harmonized inflation edged up to 14.0% in April (March: 13.8%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation fell to 13.8% in April, from March’s 14.8%.
Finally, harmonized consumer prices increased 0.61% from the previous month in April, coming in below March’s 1.26% increase. April’s result marked the weakest reading since December 2022.
