Slovakia: Inflation comes in at highest level since December 2003 in February
Consumer prices increased 0.90% from the previous month in February, after January’s 2.70% rise. The moderation was broad-based, with lower price pressures recorded for food and non-alcoholic beverages, housing and utilities, and transportation.
Inflation rose to 9.0% in February, above January’s 8.4%. February’s result marked the highest inflation rate since December 2003. Annual average inflation rose to 4.5% in February (January: 3.8%). Finally, harmonized inflation rose to 8.3% in February, from the previous month’s 7.7%.
