Slovakia: Inflation declines to lowest level since December 2018 in April
Consumer prices remained unchanged in April, matching March’s flat reading. Looking at the details of the release, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages, as well as for health, increased in April. Meanwhile, price pressures for clothing and footwear were largely steady. Transport prices, for their part, dropped.
Inflation edged down to 2.1% in April, which was below March’s 2.3% print. April’s result marked the lowest inflation rate since December 2018. Meanwhile, the trend was unchanged with annual average inflation coming in at March’s 2.6% in April. Lastly, harmonized inflation fell to 2.1% from March’s 2.4%.
