Slovakia: Inflation dips in August
Consumer prices rose 0.2% month-on-month in August, following July’s 0.1% uptick. The print reflected higher prices for transport and alcoholic beverages and tobacco, which more than offset by lower prices for clothing and footwear.
Inflation inched down to 2.8% in August from July’s 2.9%, which had marked the highest reading in 15-months, while harmonized inflation remained stable at July’s 3.0%, a near seven-year high. Meanwhile, annual average inflation remained unchanged at 2.3%.
