Slovakia: Inflation inches down in June
Consumer prices rose 0.1% month-on-month in June, down from May’s 0.3% increase. Prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages, recreation and culture, and alcoholic beverages and tobacco increased the most, while transport and restaurants and hotels prices recorded the sharpest declines.
Inflation inched down to 2.6% in June (May: 2.7%), mainly due to a sharper contraction in transport prices, while harmonized inflation was stable at May’s 2.7%. Meanwhile, annual average inflation remained unchanged at 2.5%.
