Slovakia: Inflation accelerates in December
Consumer prices edged down 0.10% in December, contrasting November’s 0.10% rise and dropping for the first time since August. December’s downturn was chiefly driven by falling prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages as well as clothing and footwear.
Inflation ticked up to 1.6% in December, above November’s 1.5%. Meanwhile, annual average inflation dropped to 2.0% (November: 2.1%). Lastly, harmonized inflation remained steady at 1.6% for the third successive month in December.
