Slovakia: Inflation hits two-month high in February

Consumer prices increased 0.30% over the previous month in February, matching January’s reading. Looking at the details of the release, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages increased at a weaker pace in February. However, prices for clothing and footwear declined at a slower rate.

Consumer prices edged up to 0.9% in February, from January’s 0.7%, marking the highest reading in two months.. Meanwhile, the trend pointed down slightly, with annual average inflation coming in at 1.6% in February (January: 1.8%). Lastly, harmonized inflation rose to 0.9% from January’s 0.7%.
