Slovakia: Inflation rises in September to near-decade high
Consumer prices increased 0.82% in September over the previous month, picking up from August’s 0.38% rise. September’s uptick was the highest reading since May. The figure was driven in part by rising prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages.
Inflation came in at 4.6% in September, up from August’s 3.8%. September’s reading was the highest inflation rate since November 2011. Meanwhile, the trend pointed up, with annual average inflation coming in at 2.2% in September (August: 1.9%). Finally, harmonized inflation rose to 4.0% in September, from August’s 3.3%.
