Slovakia: Inflation rises to over one-year high in June
Consumer prices rose 0.60% over the previous month in June, moderating from May’s 0.80% rise. The reading was driven by moderating price pressures for food and non-alcoholic beverages and for transportation. In addition, prices for health grew at a more subdued pace.
Inflation increased to 2.9% in June, above May’s 2.2%. June’s figure represented the highest inflation rate since February 2020. Meanwhile, the trend pointed up mildly, with annual average inflation coming in at 1.8% in June (May: 1.6%). Harmonized inflation rose to 2.5% in June, from the previous month’s 2.0%.
