Slovakia: Inflation speeds up in May
Consumer prices rose 0.3% month-on-month in May, up from April’s 0.2% increase. The uptick was chiefly led by higher prices for food, and alcoholic beverages and tobacco.
Inflation accelerated to 2.7% in May (April: 2.4%), while harmonized inflation rose to 2.7% (April: 2.4%). Meanwhile, annual average inflation remained unchanged at an over one-year low of 2.5%.
