Slovenia: Economic sentiment falls in February
Economic sentiment came in at 95.5 in February, down from January’s 96.5. Consequently, the index remained below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a muted near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print reflected deteriorating sentiment in the industrial sector and declining confidence in the construction and retail sectors. Moreover, consumer sentiment weakened in February. More positively, confidence in the services sector strengthened.
Relating to indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations improved and the economic uncertainty index also improved in February.
