Slovenia: Economic sentiment eases in July
Economic sentiment came in at 98.0 in July, down from June’s 98.6. Consequently, the index remained below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a muted near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print chiefly reflected plummeting confidence in the retail sector. Moreover, confidence in the services and construction sectors deteriorated, and consumer sentiment waned. Meanwhile, sentiment in the industrial sector improved.
Relating to indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations deteriorated, while the economic uncertainty index fell in July.
