Slovenia: Industrial activity falls at sharpest pace since May 2020 in August
Industrial output plunged 12.3% year on year in August (July: -7.0% yoy). The figure marked the worst reading since May 2020. August’s notable weakening was largely due to a sharper fall in manufacturing output. In addition, mining and quarrying output fell.
On a monthly basis, industrial production fell 1.2% in seasonally adjusted terms in August, easing from July’s 8.0% fall.. Meanwhile, the trend pointed down, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at a two-year low of minus 4.7% in August, down from July’s minus 3.6%.
