Slovenia: Industrial output expands at the fastest pace in one-and-a-half years in February
Industrial output grew 2.8% in year-on-year terms in February, which contrasted January’s 3.5% decrease. February’s print marked the best reading since August 2022. Looking at the details of the release, February’s improvement was broad-based: Manufacturing and mining and quarrying production accelerated, while electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply activity contracted at a softer rate.
On a monthly basis, industrial output increased 3.3% in seasonally adjusted terms in February, which was significantly below January’s 7.4% expansion. Meanwhile, the trend improved, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 5.2%, up from January’s minus 5.4%.
