Slovenia: Industrial activity tumbles in March
Industrial output nosedived 6.9% year on year in March (February: +2.5% yoy). The reading reflected a broad-based downturn across the major sectors, with manufacturing, and mining and quarrying swinging into contraction. Moreover, electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply fell at a faster pace in March.
Accordingly, the trend pointed down, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 5.5% in March, down from February’s minus 5.2%. On a monthly basis, industrial output plunged 5.9% in seasonally adjusted terms in March, contrasting February’s 3.1% expansion.
