Slovenia: Industrial activity drops in May
Industrial output declined 5.0% in year-on-year terms in May, which contrasted April’s 12.9% increase. Looking at the details of the release, manufacturing plus mining and quarrying production swung into contraction. That said, energy supply output dropped at a softer rate.
Accordingly, the trend pointed down, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 4.2% in May, down from April’s minus 3.9% reading.
On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial production plunged 7.3% in May (April: +10.0% s.a. mom), the worst result since December 2023.
