Slovenia: Industrial production rallies in January
Industrial production increased 5.7% on an annual basis in January, strongly rebounding from December’s revised 4.3% slump (previously reported: -3.1% year-on-year). A breakdown by subcomponents revealed that both manufacturing activity and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, bounced back from a month prior. Mining and quarrying, however, remained in the red.
On a month-on-month basis, industrial output jumped 5.9% in January, the highest reading in 36 months, after December’s revised 2.4% fall (previously reported: -1.5% mom). Meanwhile, average annual growth in industrial production logged 4.2%, down from 4.7% in December.
