Slovenia: Harmonized inflation drops to over two-year low in December
Harmonized inflation dropped to 3.8% in December from November’s 4.5%. December’s reading represented the lowest inflation rate since October 2021, although it came in above the Euro area average of 2.9%. Looking at the details of the release, the decline was broad-based but chiefly reflected a sharp fall in inflation for food and non-alcoholic beverages, and lower prices for transportation.
Annual average harmonized inflation fell to 7.2% in December (November: 7.8%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation fell to 4.2% in December, from November’s 4.9%.
Lastly, harmonized consumer prices dropped 0.60% from the previous month in December, a less pronounced fall than November’s 0.80% drop.
