Slovenia: Consumer prices drop in August
Consumer prices fell a seasonally-adjusted 0.06% over the previous month in August, following July’s 0.11% drop. Looking at the details of the release, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages increased slightly in August while prices for electricity, gas and other fuels were broadly steady. Prices for clothing and footwear fell at a more modest pace.
Consumer prices declined 0.1% on an annual basis in August, contrasting July’s 0.3% rise. Annual average inflation edged down to 0.7% in August (July: 0.9%). Lastly, harmonized prices fell 0.7% on an annual basis in August, which was a sharper fall compared to July’s 0.3% decrease.
