Slovenia: Inflation continues on downward trend in February
Consumer prices rose 0.7% over the previous month in February, contrasting a 0.8% month-on-month decline in January. Looking at a breakdown of the components, eight out of the twelve sub-components registered an increase, three came in flat, and one fell over the previous month. Clothing and footwear recorded the biggest jump in prices, while furnishing, household equipment and routine household maintenance was the only category for which prices declined.
Inflation edged down to 1.2% in February from 1.5% in January. Harmonized consumer prices increased 0.7% over the previous month in February, contrasting a 0.6% month-on-month drop in January, and harmonized inflation moderated to 1.4% in February from 1.7% in January. Annual average harmonized inflation also fell to 1.4% in February from 1.7% in January.
